Gore multisport skating rink and aquatic complex
The total project comprised an ice rink and an indoor heated aquatic centre,
including main pool, leisure pool and hydrotherapy pool.
MWH were responsible for the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services for this project. Heat pump technology was employed to transfer heat from the ice rink and the exhaust air stream to the pool water and supply air stream to meet the heating demand. Vacuum diatomaceous earth filtration is used for the main and learner pools and pressurised diatomaceous earth is used for the hydrotherapy pool.
This project has been extremely successful, the facility usage exceeding expected numbers and consuming considerably less energy than anticipated.
